If
you subscribe to many email newsletters, you've
probably seen Joint Ventures. This is a situation
in which someone whose newsletter you're subscribed
to sends you an offer on behalf of another marketer.
These emails often offer special bonuses from
the sender if you purchase from the other marketer.
These
Joint Venture emails can be very effective for
both marketers, and if you have an email list,
you can benefit from doing good joint ventures.
There
are three things you should avoid when you're
sending a joint venture email to your list. Many
of your list members are on several lists, and
they'll see the offer from your partner more than
once. So you need to make sure they don't just
groan and ignore it-again.
First,
avoid talking about "my good friend,"
unless you actually are friends with the other
marketer-and then explain how long you've known
each other and how you met. This phrase makes
most people think you're just blowing smoke, and
you can quickly lose the respect of your existing
list members.
Second,
make sure that you offer something more than the
form letter the JV partner has offered you. Write
a review, or at least write your own email describing
the product and why you believe in it. When the
same letter arrives in their email boxes several
times, people don't believe any of it.
Third,
make your bonus something very special. Remember
that with a big partner, you'll be competing against
a number of list owners. Make sure your bonus
is something you know your list members will want,
and that your whole presentation makes them want
to buy from you, not from someone else.
Above
all, make sure that the email you send sounds
as if it is coming from you. And if you're the
one having your offer promoted through other people's
lists, there are similar things you can do to
make sure you get the maximum results.
If
you are providing form emails for your partners
to send, provide several versions, and encourage
them to make their own additions or write their
own emails, so that they don't sound like everyone
else who's promoting the product.
Create
promotional products such as free reports, reviews,
and samples that your JV partners can offer their
readers, to demonstrate the quality of the product
and increase their readers' interest and likeliness
to spend their money.
Be
available to answer questions not only from your
JV partners, but from their readers, as well.
Make yourself as available as possible, and make
your product not only as complete as possible,
but very easy to understand. Whether you're promoting
your product in conjunction with other list owners,
or using your list to promote someone else's product,
be aware that you need to provide as much information
as possible to readers, and make them feel that
they're really getting the most complete picture
possible of the product.
Joint
venture marketing through email is an incredibly
effective way to sell products and build your
income. By following a few tips, you can make
your JV emails even more effective.
